A growing body of research has demonstrated the importance and necessity of motor skills, exercise, and physical activity in the daily lives of individuals with autism. Often, individuals with ASD develop motor skills more slowly than peers and engage in lower rates of physical activity; yet, exercise can be an effective strategy for managing behaviors.
